How you will be alerted

The National Early Warning Platform for Emergency Situations sends warning messages straight to mobile phones in the affected area by cell broadcast, with a distinctive tone and special vibrations. Fixed warning sirens also exist in parts of the Riyadh, Tabuk and Makkah regions (tested nationwide alongside phone alerts on 3 November 2025).^[3]^[4]

Shelters and civil defence

When you receive an early-warning alert: go to an interior room away from windows and do not leave your home or building until the danger has passed. If you are outside, enter the nearest building or shelter behind a solid barrier. If driving, stop at the roadside away from bridges and high-rise buildings.^[6]
