Vorsorgen für About 1 week (food)[2][1]

“Emergency supplies first and foremost include approximately one week's worth of food with a long shelf life and sufficient water for drinking, cooking and hygiene. [...] Recommended personal emergency supplies for seven days. (Federal Office for National Economic Supply, 'We Advise – Emergency Supplies', English edition)”

Wasser: At least 9 litres per person (drinking and cooking for 3 days)[2][1][3]

Lebensmittel: Keep about one week's worth of long-life food that matches your household's eating habits, including food that can be eaten without cooking (e.g. chocolate, rice cakes, cheese, dried fruit) in case of a power cut. Examples: tinned vegetables and fruit, pulses, salami or sardines (or vegetarian alternatives), hard cheese, oil, spices, sweets and snacks, plus pasta, rice, muesli, soups, bouillon and ready meals such as rösti. Think about intolerances and preferences, and use and replace the stock in your everyday cooking. A free online calculator helps you work out your own supply.[2][1]

Gut zu wissen

  • • Swiss advice is aimed at bridging a temporary supply shortage (e.g. power cut, storm, pandemic), not a long crisis.
  • • The 9 litres of water are for drinking and cooking only, not for washing or flushing the toilet.
  • • An official calculator helps you work out your own supply: https://www.emergency-supplies-calculator.bwl.admin.ch/en
  • • Alertswiss offers a fillable personal emergency plan (contacts, meeting points, evacuation, emergency bag) in many languages and in the app.
